West Valley Elementary

The WVPTO Direct Donation Drive is more than halfway over with less than 3 weeks to go. To date we have raised just over $49,000 (approx 39% of our $125,000 goal). We're making decent progress but still have a long way to go.

Why donate? Here’s what a few West Valley teachers are saying about some of the programs and staff funded by your donations and WVPTO:

“The C-Lab has given the students the chance to tinker, explore and experience in new and interesting ways. They have gone on virtual field trips to incredible museums, learned the basics of circuitry and applied those to inventions, and been given the chance to creatively tackle challenges of various types.” -- Mrs. Koerner, 3rd Grade

“This is the first school I have worked at that provides reading and math intervention. It has been an amazing resource for my students who need it. The difference it has made in their ability to work through their learning issues and keep up with the class has meant everything for them. It also benefits the rest of the class because it keeps students level on the learning spectrum and allows me to move forward with my lessons at a pace beneficial to all. Every school should have this amazing asset.” -- 3rd Grade Teacher

Recess 101 builds collaborative skills through games and physical activity. Students have learned many new games and are able to play these during recess and lunch! They also work to problem solve and build connections with new friends.” – 2nd Grade Teacher

“I think that [PTO funded] community events really help to bring our school together and are an important part of building an inclusive and caring environment at school. I am incredibly appreciative of all the support that is provided by our PTO and our parents at West Valley.  It makes our school a special place to be and an incredible place to work.” -- Mrs. Erikson, 1st Grade

These WVPTO funded enrichment programs, support staff  and more (click here for a complete list) for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year are dependent on the success of this Direct Donation Drive. Once again, the suggested donation amount is $450 per family with one student, plus $150 for each additional student at West Valley.  Please donate what you can - every donation makes a difference! We are striving for 100% participation from all  current and incoming West Valley families.
