The annual West Valley Parent Teacher Organization (WVPTO) Direct Donation Drive is happening now! Thank you to those who have already donated! In the first week, we raised almost $6,000 toward our $125,000 goal for this campaign. We have a long way to go! For the second year in a row, we missed out on our annual Walkathon and Silent Auction which typically raises nearly $100,000 toward the WVPTO’s yearly budget. Without those funds, this year’s Spring Direct Donation Drive is more important than ever.
What the WVPTO Funds
Did you know that West Valley’s amazing Art Program with Ms. Sanchez is completely funded by the WVPTO? We also funded the creation of the C-Lab and continue to fund extra hours for Mrs. Chew, our Technology Media Specialist, to provide all students with STEM enrichment activities. Because of the WVPTO, our school library is updated with new books every year, and Mrs. Gudan is able to ensure students have access to books they need to support the classroom curriculum.
The WVPTO also funds an intervention program for students who need a little extra help to meet grade-level standards in reading. In addition to purchasing the materials for this program, we fund 3 Instructional Aides to work with students in small groups to ensure these students reach their reading goals.

How To Donate
The WVPTO is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. To donate, please choose one of the following options:
- Mail a check payable to WVPTO: Print and complete the paper donor form, attach your check and send to PO Box 2032, Sunnyvale, CA 94087
- Donate online via credit card: Fill out the online donor form and follow the link at the end to pay via secure credit card transaction. You may choose a one-time payment or an installment plan over a selected number of months.
- Corporate Match Program: Donate through your company’s corporate match program. This may be through a third party site such as Benevity, BrightFunds, EasyMatch, YourCause, etc. Check your internal company website or with your HR department for more details.
Don’t forget that corporate matching is a great way to make your donation go further! Many local companies participate in corporate matching (many 1:1 or even 2:1) for non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations. Last year approximately one third of our total donations came from corporate matches! To find out more, please visit our Corporate Match page or check with your employer’s HR department.
Once again, the suggested donation amount is $500 per family with one student, plus $250 for each additional student at West Valley. Please donate what you can - every donation makes a difference! We are striving for 100% participation from all West Valley families.
