NEWS FROM THE WVPTO!

WVPTO Direct Donation Drive Update - Our annual West Valley Direct Donation Drive (our biggest school fundraiser) was put on hold just a few weeks after kick off due to the school closure and shelter in place. Our original goal was to raise $135,000 by April 10th, to fund support staff and special programs, such as Art and Coach Jonathen’s Academy, for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Unfortunately, we have only raised $61,500 to date (about 45% of our goal). If you have already donated, thank you so much! If you have not donated and are still able to, please consider doing so. We have extended this fundraising campaign until May 31st in hopes that we can still meet our $135,000 goal over the next month. We do realize the timing is not ideal; however with expected district funding cuts, we will need to increase our spending to offer the same support staff and enrichment programs for the next school year. Please see our DDD FAQ Page for more specifics on what the WVPTO funds. Donations can be made online via Konstella or by filling out the DDD Contribution Form and mailing it with a check to the WVPTO P.O. Box (see form for more info). Thanks in advance for your support!

Teacher Appreciation Week Is May 4-8 - You should have received an email via Konstella from a WVPTO board member outlining the details for Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers are working so hard to adjust to online learning and to keep our kids engaged. Let’s remember to thank them for all they have done for us this school year, especially over these past 6 weeks. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s room parents for more information.

Multicultural Festival Update - Unfortunately we were unable to host our annual WV Multicultural Festival last week as planned. However, our committee chairs are hard at work creating an online experience for you and your families to enjoy. Stay tuned for more info!

Reimbursement Requests Due by May 31st - Don’t forget to turn in your Reimbursement Requests! Our WVPTO Treasurers have requested all reimbursement requests (and receipts) be turned in no later than May 31st. To submit a reimbursement request, simply complete the following Google Form. Questions? Contact Treasurer Chuck Fraleigh at treasurer@wvpto.org.

Join us for our next (virtual) WVPTO meeting on Thursday, May 21th at 6:30pm All West Valley parents/guardians are welcome to attend (dial in info will be published via Konstella). We will be discussing the budget for next year as well as the need for additional Board Members and key volunteers to help with events and fundraisers for the next school year. More info about the WVPTO (including fundraisers, committees, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming events) can be found on Konstella and www.wvpto.org. You can also e-mail the WVPTO directly at info@wvpto.org.

We hope you are staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times!
