Walk-a-thon is THIS SATURDAY, October 6th, 8:00am - 3:00pm!

100% of proceeds go to enhance our school and make it a better learning environment for our children. The WVPTO funds the following programs:

Art and music instruction, the C-Lab, math and reading intervention materials, Multicultural Night, Family Science Night and more! Your participation in the Walk-a-thon enables us to continue to support these programs.

Important Reminders

  • Volunteers still needed! All WV parents are encouraged to volunteer for at least one shift on Walkathon day. Sign-up today! Thank you for your support!
  • Plan to stay all day! Come for breakfast, stay for lunch, enjoy this fun day with friends and family!
  • Visit the Silent Auction and Raffle! Bid on parties, camps, services, gift certificates, and more! View the online catalog today. Or try your luck in the raffle to win an iPad, Nintendo Switch, Electric Go Kart, Slime Making Kit, or many other exciting prizes!
  • Walkathon is not a drop-off event! Any child under the age of 16 must be under the supervision of an adult.
  • Sign-up to bring Bake Sale items to school on Friday, October 5th. Donations can be left with Valet, at the front of the school, or in the GLC.
  • Keep Collecting Pledge Donations! Our goal is $200 per student, due 10/18. Online pledges may be collected via Walkstarter. See wvpto.org/walkathon for detailed instructions.

Helpful Tips

 

T-Shirts: All current WV students who participate in the Walkathon will receive a free t-shirt after checking in. A limited number of t-shirts will be available for purchase for friends/family.

 

Cash: Bring cash for raffle tickets, food, bake sale & refreshments. Auction items may be paid for by check or credit card.

 

Parking: Please do not park along the curb in the parking lot by the school office. That area must be kept clear at all times and is for emergency vehicles only. Parking is also prohibited at the Brookside Apartments-- your car will be towed! Street parking is available on Belleville Way, Bedford Ave, and Barton Dr. Be careful not to block driveways or fire hydrants.

Shade: Don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and hat. If you have a portable shade tent, please bring it!

Visitors: We welcome all West Valley students, families, and alumni to enjoy the walkathon. Guest lap cards are available at Check In.

Safety: Please be sure that your children wear good socks and walking shoes. Basic first aid (bandages for cuts/scrapes and ice) is available, but we will not have dedicated medical personnel or facilities at the event.

 

Campus Rules: No bikes, roller blades, scooters, or skateboards. Please leave pets at home. Dogs are not allowed on campus at any time.

 

Time Conflicts: If your family has another commitment on Walkathon day, feel free to leave and come back for a few more laps. Please leave your lap card at the Check In/Check Out table until your return.
