The Whiting Lane School Parent Teacher Organization held its third meeting of the school year on Thursday, November 13th in the school library. Thank you to the parents, board members, teachers, and staff members who attended. Mark your calendars for our next meeting on Thursday, December 11th, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the school library. The PTO holds meetings on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Please join us in person or virtually!
Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday, October 18th, at the PTO Fall Into Fun fundraiser! The sun shone across the Whiting Lane grounds on a beautiful autumn day as families enjoyed games of skill, complimentary face-painting, a bounce house bonanza, flavorful food trucks, raffles, and more, all to support our PTO mission and the greater Whiting Lane School community. Your participation in this event helped to raise $4700 for our PTO - which goes directly towards student enrichment opportunities, teacher wish list items, student field trips, playground toys, extra school supplies, our food pantry and more! These funds also pay for fun events such as Turkey Bingo Night, which was held on Thursday, October 20th in the Whiting Lane Cafeteria. We are so thankful for the support of our Whiting Lane Community!

SEPTO - The West Hartford Special Education Parent Teacher Organization (SEPTO) held it's inaugural meeting for the 2025-2026 school year on Monday, November 17th at 7 pm. 
Ski & Snowboard Club: The Whiting Lane Ski & Snowboard Club linked up with Ski Bugbee for the the 2026 Season. Registration is now closed.
Food Pantry: Each week, the Whiting Lane Food Pantry provides bags of groceries to Whiting Lane families in need. We greatly appreciate the continued support from our community members especially as we approach the holiday season! As always, there are a number of valuable ways you can contribute to our Food Pantry mission, including participation in our monthly fundraisers at local restaurants! We have been generating approximately $200/month from our restaurant fundraisers (Chipotle, Panera, Chopts, etc.) so thank you for supporting our cause. Alternatively, if you are interested in grocery shopping, bagging food, donating shopping bags or cash, or if you'd like to learn more about the WL Food Pantry program, please contact foodpantry@wlpto.org or click here to donate directly. We are thankful for your continued support!

The PTO is creating a Bylaws Revision Committee to review and update the policies that currently govern our organization. Participation for this Committee will be open to anyone from the Whiting Lane School Community who may be interested, including non-Board members. Our current Bylaws are published on our PTO website here. Beginning at the January 2026 PTO meeting we will begin to review our current policies, supported by the Committee of volunteers who will also meet separately to carefully review all sections of the Bylaws. All approved revisions will be publicly posted, and a date will be set for a school-wide vote by the end of this school year. The goal will be for the new Bylaws to take effect at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year.
