Let’s get ready for a joy-filled evening!
Whittier’s Drag Queen Bingo & Storytime will be an incredible event focused on love, acceptance, and inclusion, featuring local host, Sylvia O’Stayformore. Working with our administrative and district teams, we’re excited to host a joyful, safe, and fun event that celebrates our inclusive community. Here’s what to expect:
- 5:30-6pm: Come experience our joy party near Whittier’s front entrance beforehand! Be ready for music, wear your pride gear, and bring your most colorful umbrellas! Once you’ve experienced this crowd of joy, please enter through the front entrance (on 75th). We’re also asking families to stop by our welcome table to grab Whittier stickers (neighboring schools are also invited, so look for their stickers, too!).
- 6-7pm: It’s bingo and story time! Sylvia O’Stayformore will be reading between rounds. Be sure to stop by the BINGO table in Whittier’s main hallway before you head into the cafeteria and get ready to play! Lucky winners can score Whittier Paw Pride 2025 t-shirts!
-
7-7:30pm: Line-up to grab a photo with Sylvia! Please help us limit one photo per Wildcat so everyone interested can grab a photo.
-
Please note the Whittier playground will be closed starting at 4pm; families are asked to exclusively enter/exit through the front entrance and remain in the building’s event areas.
We are so proud of our community and can’t wait to celebrate together. If you or your family have any questions, concerns, or would like help processing the additional attention this event has received from outside communities, please feel free to reach out to edi@whittierptaseattle.org or president@whittierptaseattle.org anytime. The PTA is also hosting a work session on Tuesday, April 1st from 7-9pm in the library; all are welcome to attend. PTA leaders will be available to help community members debrief during this work session.
