Meals at Whittier: 2022-2023 Updates
Tue, Aug 30 4:39pm

School meals are changing at Whittier in 2022-2023! For some veteran Wildcats, this may be a return to “normal.” For other Wildcats, the 2022-2023 school year will be their first experience purchasing school meals at Whittier. Please see below for a primer on Breakfast & Lunch at Whittier this school year.

School Lunch/Recess Times

  • 2-3: 10:30-11:10 a.m.
  • K-1: 10:50-11:30 a.m.
  • 4-5: 11:10-11:50 a.m.

Packing Lunch

Students can bring a packed lunch to school in a lunch container (that they can open themselves) with an ice pack, if they need to be kept cold. Students may be able to get disposable utensils school. If students pack lunch, they can still purchase a lunch (although you may receive a note from our amazing lunch lady, Jo-Nell, to confirm you’re ok with your Wildcat purchasing lunch). There are no specifically prohibited food items to avoid packing. It's recommended that students also pack a water bottle and snack to use during the school day.

Buying Meals

Fresh meals are available for purchase daily. Breakfast is $2.25 and Lunch is $3.25. Students may also purchase some foods a la carte, like milk. To purchase meals, your student will require a student account. Students can bring a check (payable to “Culinary Services”) or cash for a pre-paid deposit to our Lunchroom Manager, Jo-Nell.

Alternatively, caregivers can set-up a Paypams account to use a credit card to establish a pre-paid deposit account. PayPams require the Student’s ID number or meal account pin number (provided by the school) to create an account. The Student ID number can be found on report cards or by accessing The Source. PayPams charges users a payment transaction of $ 1.95 per student for each transaction.

Breakfast & Lunch Menus

We are awaiting confirmation from Culinary Services regarding menu posting. If the PTA posts weekly breakfast & lunch menus (like last year), we will post them here. Please note Culinary Services has advised meals are subject to change.
