Good Morning, Wildcat Families!
There is still space left for the upcoming VEX IQ robotics camps after school this coming week and the week after! VEX IQ is a very cool robotics system designed for children in 3rd through 8th grade and something we’ve been trying to get at our schools for a few years and thanks to a grant from Lawerence Livermore Labs, we were able to get started!
Wicklund will have competitive teams this year and these camps are a great way to see if you kiddo is interested or to get a little head start on learning these systems. You do not need to sign up for both weeks as they do not build on each other but you are certainly welcome to.
Week 1: Monday, August 12th through Thursday, August, 15th, 3:15 to 4:45 — $50
Week 2: Monday, August 19th through Thursday, August 22nd, 3:15 to 4:45 — $50
“Elementary and middle school is the most formative time in a young student's life. The best way to instill a lifelong interest in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is to provide a fun, engaging, and hands-on opportunity to explore and experience it for themselves. By its nature, the study of robotics inherently incorporates all four pillars of STEM. VEX IQ is a snap-together robotics system designed from the ground up to provide this opportunity to future engineers of all skill levels. By packaging advanced concepts into an accessible package, the system also naturally encourages teamwork, problem solving, and leadership!” - VEX
