Beye School PTO Newsletter
DECEMBER 2025
I know the holiday season is a very busy time in our community, as well as a time of great excitement for many of our kiddos. As you enjoy winter traditions, like the Beye Winter Music Festival, please consider supporting the Beye community, through a gift to the Beye School PTO this Giving Tuesday, by joining our new Snowflakes of Joy initiative (more information below), or by a heartfelt thank you note to a Beye teacher or staff member. As you may know, Ms Cooper is retiring after 22 years of caring for Bobcats and greeting all who enter the Beye office with a smile. We're collecting memories of Ms Cooper to create a book for her. If you, or your child(ren) would like to submit a note, picture, or photo for the book, please email them to memorybook@beyeschoolpto.org.
As a community, we are dedicated to supporting one another during difficult times. This holiday season, please join us in creating Snowflakes of Joy. The Board has partnered with school staff to compile a wish list of gifts for children in families needing a little extra support this year. You’ll find more details in this issue of the newsletter — we need your help to make it snow!
We also hope you enjoyed the delicious Mexican food during our recent dine-for-dollars event at Tacos '76. Thanks to their partnership and your enthusiastic orders, we raised $500 to help keep our programming strong. Thank you!
A big thank you as well to our organizers, the Yulish family and a group of volunteers, for keeping our annual Turkey Trot tradition alive. We had a fantastic turnout and an inspiring show of community spirit during our “race” around Beye School. Fun fact: four trips around the block is nearly a mile! We saw a thrilling finish with students and parents racing — and walking — to the end. Nice work, Bobcats!
Looking ahead, the Beye School PTO will be hosting all of you, along with the other D97 PTOs, for next month’s community meeting featuring David Kessler — the guy who can translate neurodivergent brilliance into plain English. Learn more about the event and RSVP here: https://bit.ly/beye129
We hope to see you there!
- Molly Greenwood-Whalen, PTO President and the 2025-2026 PTO Exec Board

SNOWFLAKES OF JOY
The Beye School PTO’s Snowflakes of Joy program functions much like a Secret Santa initiative, providing confidential, meaningful holiday gifts to children of families within our school community. When you purchase items from the wish list, you are creating joy for children in our community.
As gifts are delivered to the school, a corresponding snowflake will be added to our “Snowflakes of Joy” display near Door 5E at Beye School. All donated gifts will be wrapped and later delivered to the child who included that item on their holiday wish list — bringing joy to a child who might not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season.
Let's create joy and make it snow at Beye School!
