Beye School PTO Newsletter
MAY 2025
A huge thank you to Melissa Ingram and everyone who helped prepare for and participated in making the Beye School Fun Fair Carnival a huge delight! Congratulations to all of our winners and many thanks to all of our generous donators/sponsors including Legacy Sports Summer Camps! Legacy offers sports camps such as Flag Football, Baseball Training, Multi-Sport, Soccer, Wiffleball, etc. for ages 5-14 in many locations in and around Oak Park.
Upcoming soon: from May 5th to the 9th we will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week with a variety of activities including a luncheon with relief from lunchtime monitor roles on Friday! You've probably received a note from your classroom room leader, or will soon, that will detail specific plans for your classroom(s) appreciation activities but below is a summary of what we have planned for the school-wide community:
-
- Monday, 5/5: Kindergarten and 1st grade families supply school-safe snacks for staff lounge
- Wednesday, 5/7: 2nd and 3rd grade families supply school-safe snacks for staff lounge
- Friday, 5/9: 4th and 5th grade families supply school-safe snacks for staff lounge

Following Olympic Day, later that night, The Beye PTO will host an evening of community and celebration starting at 5:30PM on the historic Fitzgerald's Nightclub Patio. Appetizers will be provided by Babygold BBQ and a cash bar will be available. Enjoy live music from Rick King’s Royal Hustle starting at 7PM and stick around for Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears starting at 9PM. Check out details about the performers HERE. Tickets are $40 per person which includes hearty appetizers and space to celebrate as a community together under a Patio Tent. All Beye parents, caregivers, and friends are welcome to experience this local treasure and raise funds for the Beye PTO to support student and classroom enrichment in the coming school year. Space is limited, so get your tickets now!
Want to be a part of the discussion? Candidates needed for the 2025/2026 PTO Executive Board. Do you have great ideas for PTO programming or initiatives? Do you want to get involved in decisions about how best the PTO can help Beye and the Beye community? Do you have an hour and a half a month? We are currently looking for candidates for the PTO executive board for next school year. The board meets once a month with a focus on working to build the budget, set policies, and addressing needs that arise for the school and community. If you're interested in learning more, please email board@beyeschoolpto.org.
We have a new BeyeWear vendor: 1st Place Spiritwear! As you may know, our longtime vendor stepped away from the business earlier this year, and we had tried another local vendor. It quickly became clear that they were not a good fit, and we apologize for the many missing and incorrect orders. If you are still missing part of your order and have not received a refund from Color My Craft, please email president@beyeschoolpto.org. Our new vendor, 1st Place Spiritwear is a much larger company: they provide spiritwear for the other D97 schools and OPRF, and will ship orders directly to your home throughout the year. Check out their Beye-focused webpage which includes original designs by Beye parent, Casey Goldberg. All designs are available on a wide range of tees, sweatshirts, hats, and pants.
