Hello WGE Families -

If you haven't yet heard, our WG community lost a great one this week. Chris Bertucelli of La Villa Delicatessen, passed away unexpectedly earlier this week. Chris was the light of La Villa and a cornerstone of our community. His kindness and genuine care for everyone will be greatly missed.

Principal Knapp sent an email that she's collecting pages for a memory book. Here is her message in case you missed it:

Hello WGE Tiger families,

As you know, Chris Bertucelli of La Villa Delicatessen, passed away unexpectedly earlier this week. As a friend of the school and many of our families and staff, as well as a neighbor in our special community, he will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Many staff and families are asking how they can help. We would like to create a memory book to present to his wife and young children as a way to honor his legacy and show our gratitude for him. We are inviting any family, along with our staff, who would like to contribute to do so. If you wish to create a page, please use one page, 8.5x11 vertically. Include your family name if you would like. Your page can include anything you want, photos (hand drawn, printed), how he supported your family, what you loved about him and/or La Villa, memories, favorite foods from there, thank you messages, what you will miss about him, etc. Please have your page done and given to the office by Wednesday, March 11th. I will create a cover page and intro note, bind the book, and ensure it gets to his family.

Thank you,
Principal Knapp

I invite you to participate if you're interested. Another way to show your support - outside of La Villa you'll find coloring pages that Chris commissioned with Project X. They're inviting people to color them and return them to La Villa where they'll be displayed.

Chris's warmth and generosity touched so many in our community, and I know the Bertucelli family will feel the love surrounding them during this incredibly hard time.
