On June 28, San Jose City Council unanimously voted to make the Lincoln Ave. Pilot Project (ie. Road Diet) permanent.
Work has already begun to fix deteriorated sections of Lincoln Ave.
Electrical, wiring, detection work on the Minnesota (at Lincoln) signal will start about July 15, with the goal of reducing congestion and queueing. Impacts of work should be minimal. Impact of final signal improvements should be great!
The entire roadway resurfacing will start on Monday, July 25 and last 2+ to 3 weeks, including the new striping, ensuring it is done before school starts on August 17. There will be a gap in the paving between Pine and Malone because of the emergency PG&E project, and DOT will need to complete that segment after the PG&E project gets completed.
