Thank you to those who were able to attend our PTA meeting on February 9th. For those that were not able to attend, I wanted to share some of our recent accomplishments with you.
Because of your generosity we were able to purchase enough new document cameras for every teacher at the school. We have already received photos of them in use and a big thank you from our teachers! This donation came out of our COVID committee's teacher survey of needs during distance learning. A BIG thank you to Evan Merz for leading that committee.
In addition, while we aren't able to bring back all of our enrichment programs yet, we are excited to share that Project Cornerstone will return to our classrooms. This is our ABC Reading and Los Dichos programs and will be delivered through monthly videos that have been created by the folks over at Project Cornerstone. Thank you to Cori Wilser for coordinating this and being a champion for our enrichment programs!
We have a lot of exciting things coming up too. A group of dedicated volunteers deliver coffee and treats every month to our teachers and staff, our science week has turned into Science Month with details coming soon. We held our first Hicklebee's Author Event on February 11th, celebrating famous Asian Americans and Lunar New Year. Thank you to Katie Settle for leading all three of those efforts! We can also look forward to a new, reimagined parent event - an Escape Room Adventure - happening on March 20th. Information about how to purchase tickets for that event will be out very soon!
The PTA can't do this without your generosity. Thank you to all of our parents, caregivers, teachers, and staff for creating this strong WGE community.
