Walk n' Roll, Bike Rodeos and Viva Calle!
Tue, Sep 14 5:39pm

Hi Families of WGE,

We are currently in the planning stages for Walk n' Roll this year at WGE and what it might look like. Although things might not be quite back to normal yet this year, we still plan to have Walk to School Day, Walking Wednesdays, and Bike to School Day. Please reach out to me if you are interested in helping out. It's my last year at the school and I'm looking for someone who wants to take over as the lead coordinator.

In the mean-time, here are some great walking and biking events happening in our community this weekend:

San Jose Department of Transportation's Walk n' Roll Program will be hosting a Bike Rodeo with Good Karma Bikes on Saturday, September 18th from 10am-12pm! They will go over bicycle safety inspections. Come to engage in fun and safe bike activities, learn the ABC bike check and ride a small obstacle course.  It’ll be the first one of the year and completely free! Please register here so they can have an accurate head count; https://www.eventbrite.com/e/good-karma-ft-walk-n-roll-bicycle-rodeo-tickets-169009063659

Good Karma Bikes featuring the City of San Jose's Walk n' Roll Program presents a free Bike Rodeo on Saturday, September 18th from 10am-12pm

The next day, Sunday, September 19th, 2021 will be the 6th annual Viva CalleSJ event! If you're wondering what that is...Viva CalleSJ is a free program that temporarily closes 6 – 7 miles of San Jose streets to bring communities together to walk, bike, skate, play, and explore the city like never before. Come find the Walk n’ Roll team near the SAP Center! They'll be there from 10am-3pm and will be hosting a bike rodeo, in addition to handing out safety resources.

Enjoy!
