Hello WGE Tiger families,
Just a few reminders for the upcoming week. Thank you to our amazing PTA for organizing another coffee and treat delivery! We so appreciate this bright spot in our day!
Please see below for a message from our Willow Glen Community Extended Day Enrichment Program.
Hello WGCEDEP Community!
We are so excited to announce a very soft but grand reopening this summer June 7 – July 30! Ten student ambassadors will be enrolled through an interview process to work with Miss Sophia and myself to guide us in rebuilding a quality program for our Willow Glen community. As the leaders of this private non-profit enrichment program we want to experience first-hand the social and emotional needs of children after a very long and trying year. We see this as the best way to support our students and teachers returning in the Fall of the 2021 school year. Look out for our application processes to be posted to Willow Glen Elementary School’s Konstella platform in April 2021.
We appreciate your continued support as we work toward reintroducing children to an unfamiliar learning environment.
PBIS: Our students have been working so hard this month and have been showing PURR online and on campus. We have noticed more cameras on, more active participation from our students, and respectful conversations in breakout rooms! We will have a Spirit Day on 3/26… Animal Day! Anything animal themed or animal print is fine!
Our Escape Room Adventure is coming up soon on March 20th at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to this virtual escape room are $20 and can be found here. If you are able to give more to cover the ticket cost for another person, please do. If you are unable to pay the $20, there is an option for a ticket through our Willow Glen Cares program. We would love to see all of our parents, caregivers, teachers and staff at this virtual, new, fun event!
A BIG thank you to our school psychologist, Jessica Valdemar, for presenting at our PTA meeting this month. She gave us tips to promote positive mental health for our children and ourselves during such a trying time. You can find her slides here and on Konstella.
Our next PTA Meeting is April 20th where we will get updates on programs, finances and present our 2021-22 PTA Board candidates. Look forward to seeing you there!
