Arrival and Dismissal Help - 1st week of school
Tue, Sep 3 8:40am - Wed, Sep 4 4:00pm
Woodcrest Spanish Immersion
1 day before

The PTO helps school teachers and staff ensure smooth arrival and departure on the first 2 days of school.  Volunteers will help lead arriving students to their appropriate classrooms in the morning and/or help take them from their classrooms to the bus at the end of the day.

ARRIVAL VOLUNTEERS:

* Volunteers should plan to be at their posts by 8:40 am.  Bring your ID to check in.
* Volunteers pick up “Follow the Leader” flowers at Yesica’s desk.
* Kindergarten teachers will stay in classrooms to meet students as they arrive.
* Volunteers and staff will bring students to kindergarten classrooms as they arrive from buses and parent pick-up.
* Volunteers with flowers will stand near buses, but not at bus doors, and near the parent drop-off area so that we can keep kids moving away from the drop off area as quickly as possible.
* Flower people should stay put, holding their flower high in the air so they are easy for our kindergartners to find.
* People who are meeting students as they get off buses and are dropped off at parent drop-off will direct all kindergartners to meet any staff/volunteer with a flower
* Once the staff member/volunteer with the flower has at least 5 students they bring them to their classrooms and then return to bus or parent drop-off area to pick up more kindergartners.  If it is raining and there is a lull before you have 5 students, go ahead an bring them in rather than stand in the rain.
* Volunteers and staff members will remain outside and will escort kindergarten students to their classrooms from parent drop-off and buses until all have arrived.
* Plan to stay until about 9:30am.

DISMISSAL VOLUNTEERS:
*Volunteers should plan to check in at the office promptly at 3:20pm.  Bring your ID to check in.
*The classroom teachers will be escorting their students to the buses.  We will need people who can be available to read bus tags to make sure they are in the correct bus line, and assist with getting kids quickly to buses if they accidentally end up in the Parent Pick up line, or vice-versa.
