SHA Holiday Equitable Gift Project
Tue, Nov 14 4:13pm

Dear Breakthrough Community,

As we shift into the season of gratitude and giving, are eager to acknowledge the incredible contributions of our guides and the entire Breakthrough staff with the Equitable Gift Project, a fundraiser to recognize and celebrate the entire Breakthrough team this holiday season!

As described in the November school newsletter, the Equitable Gift Project is rooted in our community’s work towards equity and inclusion and seeks to recognize each and every person who works at the school, with a cash gift of equal value. The SHA does this by pooling the monetary contributions from each classroom community to ensure that all guides, assistants, and support staff who make up the 78 members of Breakthrough staff -- and play such important roles in our kids' lives every day! -- will know how much we appreciate their work and presence.

The SHA created the Equitable Gift Project to ensure that all those who support our child's school experience receive a generous gift, as well as to align with Breakthrough policy, which prohibits guides from accepting individual, non-anonymized cash gifts from parents or families.

Contributions of any amount are deeply appreciated, and funds will be collected through December 15th. Families may contribute via PayPal (preferred method), Square, or by cash at the Breakthrough front office.

Please let us know if you have any questions, or feel free to reach out to Mea Geizhals (mgeizhals@gmail.com), SHA Fundraising Committee Chair.

Thank you!
