Social, support, and advocacy group for LGBTQ Breakthrough families. Join us for a social gathering (brunch, playdates, events around town), meet up at a LGBTQ local event, or seek and find support for anything you or a member of your family is going through (inside or outside of school!). This group is intended as a safe space for Breakthrough families who have a family member who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or questioning. Allies are welcome but may be asked at times to respectfully abstain from attending an occasional closed event.

Social, support, and advocacy group for Black and African American Breakthrough families. Join us for a social gathering, meet up at a local event, or seek and find support for anything you or a member of your family is going through (inside or outside of school!). This group is intended as a safe space for Breakthrough families who have a family member who is African American, Afro-Caribbean, African, Black, or otherwise identified as part of the African diaspora. Allies are welcome but may be asked at times to respectfully abstain from attending an occasional closed event.

This group is intended as a safe space for Breakthrough families who have a family member who is neurodiverse, disabled, developmentally delayed, and/or has any physical or learning differences. Woods Play Group
Group of Breakthrough families that meets in Rock Creek Park each week for nature play - Tuesdays @ 4pm. Families meet at the same location each week and walk a short way into the woods to the same spot, where everyone shares a snack on blankets, kids play, and adults tend to stay put. Kids get to know the local area, interact with and respect nature, and practice imaginative play. Kids are welcome to roam free within established agreed upon boundaries. Meeting place is at Colorado Ave NW and 17th St NW.
