🚨 Galammer Update: A Win — and What’s Next🚨

What happened last night?
Thank you to the STIC for listening to our community and retiring two options that would have separated Hammer and Galarza 👏🏽 It was a long night (4:30–10:15pm!), and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up, spoke respectfully, and stood up for our schools. The fight isn’t over — but last night was a win for the Galammer community! 💛

📌What changed?
The STIC retired options 1.2 and 5.2, both of which would have moved Hammer.
They also requested two new closure options based on:
• Limiting closures to schools with fewer than 300 students (excluding TWBI & SDC students)
• Applying the same criteria but capping closures at a maximum of 4 schools

We’re waiting for the district to release more details and will share updates as soon as they’re available.

📅 Schedule updates
• A new STIC meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 10
• The Board Study Session meeting on Saturday, March 7 will likely be canceled
• The Board meeting on Thursday,  March 12 may include a request to extend the timeline for a final decision

📣 CALL TO ACTION
Next week is critical. We need a strong showing from Hammer families at both meetings. If we want Hammer to stay where it belongs, we need to fill the room and make our voices heard. 💪🏽
