💙💛 HMF THURSDAY UPDATE: FALL FESTIVAL IS THIS SATURDAY! 🎃🍂
Happy Thursday, Hammer families!
The countdown is almost over! Hammer Fall Festival is THIS SATURDAY, October 24, from 1:00–3:00 PM! We're so excited for an afternoon of games, pumpkins, Trunk-or-Treat, prizes, and fun with our Hammer community!
But before we get to Saturday, we have one final BIG ask for our families — WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS!
————————————————————
🚨🎃 FALL FESTIVAL — ONE LAST CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 | 1:00–3:00 PM
We've been working hard to put together a wonderful Fall Festival for our students, but we still need more families to step up and help us bring it all together!
We especially need families to participate in Trunk-or-Treat! 🚗🍬
You don't need an elaborate setup or a Pinterest-worthy trunk. A few decorations, some Halloween spirit, and a willingness to participate are all it takes!
We also still need helping hands to keep our activities running smoothly throughout the afternoon.
PLEASE DON'T ASSUME ALL THE VOLUNTEER SPOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED — THEY HAVEN'T!
🙌 EVEN 30 MINUTES HELPS!
We know you want to enjoy the festival with your own children, too. That's why we're encouraging families to share the work!
🎯 Run a carnival game for 30 minutes
🎃 Help with an activity for half the event
🍬 Sign up for Trunk-or-Treat
💪 Help with setup or cleanup
And remember, you do NOT need to be an SJUSD-approved volunteer to participate in Fall Festival! Because this is an event outside regular school hours, it's a fantastic opportunity for parents who haven't completed the district approval process to get involved.
🚨 PLEASE SIGN UP TODAY!

Email events@hammerfoundation.com with your availability, even if it's only 30 minutes, and we'll do our best to find a way for you to help!

💙 A reminder to our Hammer families:
Events like Fall Festival are only possible because parents and guardians volunteer their time. We don't need the same handful of people doing everything. We need our community to come together, with lots of families each doing a little something.
We want to offer our children an amazing Fall Festival, and we genuinely need more volunteers to make that happen.
Please sign up, share the opportunity with another Hammer family, and help us make Saturday a success!

💛🌈 UNITED AGAINST HATE WEEK — SPREADING KINDNESS AT HAMMER
Next week is United Against Hate Week, and our school will be celebrating by helping students spread cheer, positivity, and kindness!
On Friday, October 23, students will have the opportunity to use sidewalk chalk during recess to create uplifting messages and artwork around campus.
Through encouraging words, colorful drawings, and positive messages, our students will help make Hammer an even more welcoming and inclusive place.
It's a wonderful reminder that small acts of kindness can make a BIG difference, and that every student has a role in creating a community where everyone feels they belong.
We love seeing our Hammer students find creative ways to lift one another up! 💙💛

And to everyone who hasn't had a chance to get involved yet — there is still time, and we still need you!
Our school community is built by the families who show up for one another and for our children. Whether that's an hour of volunteering, a decorated trunk, or simply lending a helping hand, it all matters.
