Henry Hammer Day – Free Dress (Wear Green!)

On March 6, Hammer Montessori will celebrate Henry Hammer Day, honoring the man our school is named after. Students are invited to wear green to school that day. This will be a free dress day.

Henry Hammer was a local social activist in San Jose who was deeply committed to social justice and community service. He passed away in 1963, and our school carries on his legacy of equality, learning, and community engagement.

Fun fact: green was Henry Hammer’s favorite color, which is why we celebrate by wearing green each year!
