🎶 This Week’s Update from the Hammer Montessori Foundation 🎶
Hello Hammer Families,
This week we had the joy of watching our students shine during their music performances, and it was such a powerful reminder of why Hammer is so special. Seeing our children perform, collaborate, and build confidence on stage is truly inspiring.
Moments like these are also a reminder that your donations are at work in real time. The generosity of Hammer families funds 50% of the Starting Arts program, helping bring music education directly to our students. From incredible assemblies and enrichment opportunities to memorable spring field trips, these experiences are made possible because of the support of our amazing community.
Thank you for continuing to invest in our students and the vibrant learning environment at Hammer. 💙
👕 Walkathon T-Shirt Voting – Help Choose This Year’s Design!
Our students have been incredibly creative in submitting Walkathon T-shirt designs, and we are so proud of the thoughtful ideas they came up with.
This year’s theme is “We Are Better Together.”
With so much divisiveness in the world today, we wanted to remind our students that being part of a community — whether it’s their classroom, their school, their city, their country, or even our planet — means we are stronger working together rather than against one another.
Our Walkathon Committee has selected the Top 5 student designs, and now we need your help!
👉 Please vote for your favorite design here: LINK
The winning design will be featured on the front of this year’s Walkathon shirt.
To further celebrate this theme of inclusivity, we will also be asking families to create posters to bring to the Walkathon that highlight something unique about your family’s background or culture. Let’s celebrate the diversity that makes our community stronger!
📅 Walkathon Date: April 24

🏫 Schools of Tomorrow Update
The Schools of Tomorrow Implementation Committee (STIC) held its final meeting on March 10 and voted on a recommendation to the Board of Education regarding potential school consolidations, boundary changes, and special program moves across the district.
It is important for our community to know that no final decisions have been made.
The STIC serves in an advisory role, and the Board of Education is the final decision-making body.
Next steps in the process include:
• March 12 – Board will consider extending the timeline to review the recommendation
• March 21 – Board of Education special session to study the recommendation
• March 26 – Board vote on school consolidations, boundary changes, and/or program moves
If changes are approved, families would be notified beginning March 27, with additional steps including transfer opportunities and school assignment updates throughout April and May.
The district has also committed to supports for affected students, families, and employees, including transportation options, transfer priority, additional school funding, and employment guarantees for staff.
We encourage families who would like to stay informed to follow updates on the Schools of Tomorrow webpage or email questions to:
