Thursday HMF Update

Welcome Back!

A warm welcome to all our new Kinder families and a heartfelt return to our returning Montessorians! I hope your summer was enjoyable and refreshing. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces today, and I look forward to getting to know all the new ones I haven't had an opportunity to meet yet. The Kinder Social was a great success, with families enjoying sweet treats on the playground.

Please also make sure to read Mr. Bingham’s weekly update that will be sent out at 6pm every Friday.  It is also full of a lot of great info you need.

Volunteering

We need your help! If you’re considering volunteering, start the process now. Your TB test is valid for 5 years, so if you have younger students, it will cover you until they move to middle school. Get your TB test or risk assessment done right away so you can submit it to start the fingerprinting process. To become a parent volunteer for HMF or school-related events, click HERE to start the process through SJUSD. I’ve done it myself, and it’s a manageable process that allows you to be more engaged with the school.

ParentSquare vs. Konstella

These two apps serve distinct, but complementary, roles:

• ParentSquare: Used by the district and teachers to communicate with you. It allows you to receive messages via email, text, or app in your preferred language and schedule. It also lets you view district, school, and classroom information, including calendars and forms.
• Konstella: How the HMF communicates with you. A centralized hub for all school and classroom news. It enhances community connection, simplifies volunteering with clear sign-up details, and offers updated information with calendar syncing and streamlined notifications.

Back to School Night

Please mark your calendar for August 27th, 2024, which is Back to School Night! This is a valuable opportunity to meet your child(ren)’s teacher(s) and learn about their classroom plans for the year.

To accommodate families with multiple children, there will be two sessions available. Please note that children are not permitted to attend this event, and childcare will not be provided. We encourage you to arrange for childcare in advance so you can make the most of this informative evening.
