Hammer Montessori Annual Appeal: October 14, 2024 - January 1, 2025
We are excited to announce the launch of the Hammer Montessori Foundation’s Annual Appeal! Starting October 14, 2024, through January 1, 2025, we invite our community to help raise $35,000 to fund essential programs and resources that enrich every student’s learning experience. As a public school, Hammer Montessori relies on your generous donations to provide specialized Montessori materials, field trips, teacher development, and arts programs that are not funded by the district.
Donations can be made online through Konstella or by check/cash given to HMF members at school events. Employer matching programs can also amplify your gift! All donations are tax-deductible.
Your support makes a direct impact on our students and teachers. Together, we can ensure a thriving educational environment for all Hammer Montessori students!
Links to contribute will be active October 14th, 2024.
Annual School Picture Day
Smile, it’s Picture Day! Our Annual School Picture Day is approaching Friday November 22nd, and we can’t wait to capture those bright smiles. Please ensure that students wear their school uniform collared shirts or dresses in the approved colors: navy, white, or powder blue. These photos will be featured in the school yearbook, so let’s make sure everyone looks their best!
Halloween Fun at Hammer Montessori
Date & Time: October 31, 2024, during morning school hours
This Halloween, we’re inviting students to dress up as their favorite book character for our morning parade. Costumes should be literary-themed, fun, and appropriate for all ages. To add to the excitement, we’ve arranged a special snake assembly where students will have the opportunity to learn about these fascinating creatures.
Permission slips for the assembly were previously sent home. Please ensure they are returned promptly.
Parent Volunteer Opportunity at the Library
Our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Lee, is seeking SJUSD-approved parent volunteers to assist with library tasks. Duties include reshelving books, labeling, and preparing materials for students. The volunteer time is from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM before school.

Become a Parent Volunteer for HMF
We need your help! Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the Hammer community. To become a parent volunteer, ensure your TB test or risk assessment is up-to-date (valid for 5 years) and complete the fingerprinting process through SJUSD. Once approved, you’ll be able to assist at school events, classroom activities, and more.
