Celebrating Henry Hammer Day – A Special Event for Our Students

On March 7, 2025, we will honor the legacy of Henry Hammer with a school-wide celebration of fairness, education, and community. As part of this special occasion, our students have been working on a heartfelt project to reflect on what Hammer Montessori School means to them.

Throughout February, students have been writing postcards sharing their experiences and appreciation for their school. These postcards have been collected through our very own Hammer Post Office, managed by Miss Raychev’s class, and will be presented to Henry Hammer’s family.

We are also thrilled to welcome Betsy Hammer Carr, who will visit our school on Friday, March 7, for two special assemblies. She will read to our students and receive the wonderful collection of postcards written in honor of her father’s legacy. Additionally, a select group of students will have their reflections featured in a video presentation for the occasion.

This activity has given our students the opportunity to connect with the values that Henry Hammer stood for—fairness, inclusion, and the power of education. We look forward to celebrating this meaningful day together!

Thank you to our teachers, staff, and students for making this event so special. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to Henry Hammer Day!

You can drop off supplies at the front office or, for convenience, order directly and ship to the school (c/o Ms. Raychev). Partial boxes and extra supplies you no longer need are also welcome!
