πŸŽ‰ This Week’s Update from the Hammer Montessori Foundation πŸŽ‰

Hello Hammer Families,

What a week. We have seen an incredible outpouring of engagement, thoughtfulness, and love for our Galammer community. It has been powerful to watch our families show up for one another and for our schools. πŸ’™

🍲 Teacher Potluck Tomorrow – Let’s Show Our Teachers Love

With everything happening around the Schools of Tomorrow process, we know this uncertainty is impacting not just families — but our teachers and staff as well. They are navigating this alongside us while continuing to show up every single day for our children.

Let’s show them how much we appreciate them.

Tomorrow we are hosting a Galammer Staff Potluck, and we would love your support. Dropping off a dish is a simple but meaningful way to say: We see you. We value you. We’re grateful for you.

Whether it’s a main dish, sides, salads, or desserts — every contribution helps. Non-approved volunteers can drop items in the front office. Approved volunteers can bring items directly to the teachers’ lounge.

Let’s make tomorrow feel special for them. πŸ’•

🏫 Schools of Tomorrow Update

On February 10, the Schools of Tomorrow Implementation Committee (STIC) held its fifth meeting.

Highlights from the district update:

• The committee reviewed responses and clarifications on the three initial options.
• STIC voted to retire Option 3.
• STIC requested staff develop three additional options for consideration at the February 24 meeting.
• These new options may include closures of schools not previously listed.

Upcoming process timeline:

February 24 – Special Public Hearing (4:30–5:45 PM), followed by STIC meeting at 6:00 PM
March 3 – Special Public Hearing (4:30–5:45 PM), followed by STIC meeting at 6:00 PM
March 7 – Special Public Hearing (9:00 AM)
March 12 – Board of Education vote

Meeting materials and recordings (English & Spanish) are available on the district’s Schools of Tomorrow webpage.
Questions or feedback can be sent to: schoolsoftomorrow@sjusd.org

We encourage families to stay informed and engaged.

🀝 Thank You, Galammer Parents

We want to sincerely thank the incredible Hammer and Galarza parents who have been in the trenches this week advocating, organizing, attending meetings, translating materials, creating flyers, and helping families understand what’s happening.

Seeing our Galammer community show up, collaborate, and support one another has been truly inspiring. We have such a thoughtful, passionate, and engaged parent community.

If you would like to stay up to date or get more involved, on please join the:

“Schools of Tomorrow – Hammer Family and Engagement Group”

(Found on Konstella Social Groups)

Right now, parents are working to arrange a community meeting with our elected board trustee, Carla Collins. If you want to participate in that conversation or help shape next steps, the group is the best place to stay connected.
