Hello Hammer Families,
We are officially in Walk-a-Thon countdown mode, and we could not be more excited! This is one of the most meaningful events of the year — and this year, it carries even more significance as we celebrate our community and look ahead to what’s next.

Our Walk-a-Thon is not just about steps — it’s about community, connection, and showing up for our kids.

As we prepare for our transition to a new campus, we want to be clear:
💡 While Measure R funds will support infrastructure improvements, we still rely on fundraising to provide the programs that make Hammer so special:
• Starting Arts 🎶
• Assemblies & Field Trips 🚌
• Classroom and teacher supplies 🍎
These are the experiences that enrich our students’ education — and we need your help to continue them next year.
🌈 “We Are Better Together” Cultural Posters
Our theme this year is We Are Better Together, and we want to see that come to life in the most beautiful way possible.
We are inviting every family to create a Cultural Poster to bring to the Walk-a-Thon and display along the route.
Let’s create a rainbow of designs that represent the quilt of cultures, backgrounds, and stories that make up our Hammer community.

👕 Walk-a-Thon Shirts
T-shirts will be going home with all Hammer students next Thursday!
We will have a LIMITED number of extra shirts available for purchase at the Walk-a-Thon, so if you want one, make sure to secure it early!
🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week – Coming Soon
Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week of May, and we will be sharing sign-ups and plans right after the Walk-a-Thon.
Let’s show our teachers just how much they mean to us — keep an eye out for ways to get involved! 💙
🏫 Open House – Next Week!
📅 Tuesday, April 21 | 5:00–6:10 PM
We hope to see all of you at Open House!
HMF will have a table set up, and we would love for you to stop by and say hello. We are always looking for new members to join our board — if you have interest in getting more involved, this is a great opportunity to learn more about how you can contribute your time and talents.
📌 Open House Schedule:
• Session 1: 5:00
• Session 2: 5:30
• Classroom visits:
5:10–5:40 and 5:40–6:10
👉 Please be sure to attend the 10-minute cafeteria presentation before your classroom session.
(If transitioning between classrooms, attend the 5:00–5:10 session.)

📝 HMF Meeting Recap
We held our HMF meeting this past Tuesday — and it’s hard to believe we only have one more meeting left this school year!
Highlights from this meeting included:
• Final Walk-a-Thon planning and logistics
• Open House preparation
• Transition planning conversations for next year
• Upcoming events including Teacher Appreciation and 5th Grade Promotion

🎤 Galammer Talent Show – May 1
📅 Friday, May 1 | 6:00 PM
We are excited to host our Galammer Talent Show!
All students are welcome to participate — every talent is encouraged and celebrated.
Examples include: singing, instruments, storytelling, poetry, Rubik’s cube, dance, karate, comedy, and more!
📌 Guidelines:
• Performances under 2 minutes
• No auditions required
• Individuals or groups welcome
