πŸ’™πŸ’› HMF THURSDAY UPDATE: FALL FESTIVAL FUN & OUR READ-A-THON FINAL PUSH!

October is officially underway, and we have so much happening at Hammer! From our upcoming Fall Festival to the incredible reading and fundraising our students have been doing, there is a lot to celebrate — and plenty of opportunities for our families to get involved.

This week, we have two big asks for our Hammer community: help us make Fall Festival amazing, and help our readers cross the fundraising finish line!

πŸŽƒπŸ¬ TRUNK-OR-TREAT — WE NEED OUR HAMMER FAMILIES!

Our Hammer Fall Festival is coming up on Saturday, October 24, from 1:00–3:00 PM, and one of the highlights of the afternoon will be our Trunk-or-Treat!

We are looking for Hammer families willing to decorate their trunks, bring some Halloween spirit, and help create a fun and memorable afternoon for our students.

Whether you go all out with an elaborate theme or keep it simple with a few decorations, what matters most is showing up and being part of the fun!

πŸš— Decorate your trunk
πŸŽƒ Pick a fun theme
🍬 Help bring the Halloween magic
πŸ’™ Make some wonderful Hammer memories!

We need families to sign up to make Trunk-or-Treat a success!

And remember, Fall Festival will also feature our Pumpkin Patch, Book-O-Ween Book Exchange, carnival games, crafts, and more!

Saturday, October 24 | 1:00–3:00 PM

Our events only happen because Hammer families step up and participate. We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!

πŸ“šπŸš€ READ-A-THON — $21,000 RAISED AND COUNTING!

WOW, Hammer! Our students and families have already raised $21,000 through our Read-a-Thon!

That is an incredible accomplishment, and we are so grateful to everyone who has been reading, fundraising, donating, and encouraging our students.

But we’re not quite at our goal yet, and we still have a ways to go!

To give everyone more time to participate and help us get across the finish line, the Read-a-Thon has been EXTENDED BY TWO MORE WEEKS!

Here’s why this fundraiser is so important:

πŸ’™ Every dollar stays with your child!

Unlike many of our other HMF fundraisers, Read-a-Thon donations are allocated directly toward your child’s 5th-grade Camp Campbell Science Camp experience.

The funds accumulate year after year, helping offset the cost of this wonderful educational experience when your student reaches fifth grade.

πŸ“– Keep those reading minutes coming!

The fundraising may be a big part of this event, but so is encouraging our kids to develop a love of reading. Please keep logging those minutes and celebrating all the books our students are enjoying!

🧑 THE ORANGE BEARD CHALLENGE!

We are getting closer to unlocking the challenge of seeing Mr. Bingham dye his beard ORANGE! πŸ˜‚

There are some fantastic prizes and incentives available, so take another look at the Read-a-Thon flyer for inspiration.

πŸš€ HOW CAN YOU HELP?

• Donate: Every contribution, large or small, helps us get closer to our goal.

• Share: Send your student’s fundraising link to grandparents, friends, extended family, and anyone who might want to support their reading journey.

• Read: Keep encouraging those daily reading habits and logging minutes!

We’ve already raised $21,000. Imagine what we can accomplish with one more big community push!

Let’s finish strong, Hammer! πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸ’™ HMF MONTHLY MEETING — STAY CONNECTED!

We held our monthly HMF meeting this week, and as always, we want our families to know what we’re working on and how HMF is supporting our school.

Our meetings are open to all Hammer parents and guardians, and we encourage everyone to get involved, share ideas, and learn more about the programs and activities we help fund.

Missed the meeting? No problem!
