Exciting news-another parent volunteer opportunity!

The Galammer librarian Mrs. Lee is looking for SJUSD approved parent volunteers to assist with library tasks

~reshelve books

~label books

~cut bookmarks

~copy coloring pages

This volunteer opportunity is before school, starting at 8:45am and finishing by 9:30am. Please note that the volume of books to re-shelve fluctuates each day dependent on the number of books returned by classes, upper grade students choosing to not return library books, or classes rescheduling their visit day and time for the week. 

If you sign up/show up to re-shelve books and  there are none, please check the volunteer work bins located just beyond/behind  the librarian’s computer on the low shelves below her cabinets. And, if you can’t find anything to do, please ask Mrs. Lee!

Volunteering

Whether you are a new parent or a returning parent, you must complete SJUSD’s volunteer process for the current school year. 

To be an approved volunteer for the current school year whether for HMF or school-related events, please click HERE to start the process through SJUSD. 

Things to know

Your TB test is valid for 5 years, so it will cover you until your youngest moves to middle school. Get your TB test or risk assessment done ASAP, so you can submit it and begin the fingerprinting process.

You only have to go into the district office to scan your fingerprints once ever few years, but you MUST submit your volunteer application with SJUSD every new school year.
