PTA Association Membership Drive FAQ’s:
1.How do I participate? We would love it if each family could show their support by signing up for at least one membership.
2. How does my membership count towards the classroom standings? We count every family membership and apply credit to each child within that family. Example: Dad signs up for a membership. His daughter in 2nd grade and his son in 4th grade will both receive credit for his one membership.
3 .What if more than one family member signs up? Like my student or their grandparent? We highly encourage this, the more members the better! This is exactly what we hope happens, that ALL family and community members join and show their support for the Holmes PTA, the state PTA, and the National PTA! The more voices we represent, the bigger the impact in our children’s lives!
4. So will additional memberships count towards my child’s class count? Yes! Each child will receive additional credit for anyone else with a membership associated with them!
5. Why are there numbers and not percentages on the classroom leaderboard? Currently, we are counting total memberships per class instead of using percentages because not all classrooms have an equal number of students. Our upper grades have around 35 students, while our lower grades have about 24 students per class. Towards the end of the drive, we will convert this same data into percentages and award popsicle parties to our classrooms. But for now, we are focused on trying to reach our goal of 465 members across all classrooms. Spoiler alert: All classes typically get a popsicle party because we have such amazing community participation, so please don’t worry that your child’s class will be left out!
6. What if I don’t sign up for a membership? There is no expectation for anyone to join, and it is ok if you do not or cannot join. All of our Holmes children, whether their families become members or not, will get to be part of an additional surprise to be announced soon!
7. What if my renewed membership shows my child’s teacher from last year? Or what if I forgot to add my child’s name? PTA members review every new membership and ensure each child receives credit for their current classroom.
8. Do I have to do anything after I become a member? You get to feel good that you supported a great cause! Besides that, you can attend any of our four Association meetings at Holmes to voice your opinion, learn how things work within the PTA Board, and be the first to hear any new information about out school from Mr. Saipe! There are no additional commitments.
