5th Grade Planning Committee

Hello 5th grade parents!

 

 

We are officially forming a 5th Grade Planning Committee. This committee will plan 5th grade fundraising events, a Legacy Gift for the school, 5th grade end of year activities, and assist with promotion. We hope to make it the  best last year for our kiddos at Holmes.

 

We will be  hosting a planning kick-off meeting on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at 6pm - 7pm in the school auditorium and would love for you to join. 

 

Please sign-up below if you would like an active roll in one of the sub-committees. Most of the planning can be done from home with occasional meetings and events.

 

You may also sign-up to be on the volunteer list if you are not interested in a committee position. You'll receive info about volunteer opportunities from our various sub-committees throughout the year.

Positions (4/6 filled)

Legacy Gift Signed Up: 2 / 2

The 2024 promoting class will leave a "legacy Gift" to the school. The sub-committee with work with school admin and PTA to inquire about school needs. They will create a ballot for 5th grade to elect the gift and the will coordinate the purchase (with 5th grade funds) and delivery of the gift to Holmes.

Fundraising Events Signed Up: 2 / 3

The fundraising sub-committee with coordinate fundraising events (Ex: concessions, dance, Winter goodie bags, lei sales) and solicit/organize additional volunteers and students.

5th Grade T-Shirts Signed Up: 2 / 2

The t-shirt sub-committee will work with 5th Grade teachers to organize student submission of designs for the shirts and will coordinate a 5th grade vote. They will work with the t-shirt vendor to order shirts and distribute to the students. *Paid for with 5th grade funds

End Of Year 5th Grade Party Signed Up: 3 / 3

This end of year party sub-committee will plan a large event for the 5th grade students and families. They will coordinate a venue, food and activities. A budget will be provided once fundraising kicks off.

5th Grade Promotion Decorations Signed Up: 3 / 3

The promotion sub-committee will decorate for promotion the evening before the event and organize refreshments the day-of. *Budget to be set once fundraising kicks off.
