Families will learn the benefits of genre diversity, age-appropriate options, and how to create a fun, balanced reading routine. It helps families match books to their child’s interests, deepen comprehension, and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Preventing the Summer Slide

This session focuses on preventing the “summer slide” by helping families keep kids reading over the summer. Families will learn why summer reading matters, how much is enough, how to choose the right books, and where to find free NYC resources. It equips families with simple, affordable habits to support reading and keep children academically on track during the break.
