Dyanthe and Shaquawn's Weekly Letter and TNS Newsletter 3.23.26
Tue, Mar 24 10:33am

Dear Families,

Spring Break is soon approaching! If you have a child in the younger grades (3K-1st), this is a great time to switch out clothing items that stay in their cubbies so they are weather-appropriate and your child’s current size.

The break will begin Thursday, April 2nd, and school will resume on Monday, April 13th. There will be no University Settlement after school on Wednesday, April 1st.

3rd, 4th and 5th grade NY State Testing
State testing will begin on April 14th with ELA, which will also take place on April 15th, the day after we return from Spring Break. Math will follow on May 5th and 6th. The 5th-grade science test will take place on May 12th. If you are opting your child out of the state tests, you should reach out to Dyanthe via email at dyanthe@tnsny.org.

Summer Rising Summer Program
Summer Rising applications are still open until March 27th. The Summer Rising program runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, from July 1 - August 14.  More information about programs and how to apply can be found on the MySchools website.

Surveys
Please make sure that you complete your School Survey by April 1st. The survey gathers important feedback from all stakeholders, including families and staff, about how well schools support student learning and success, and we use this information to reflect on our work and continue improving.

We want to emphasize the importance of families completing the survey this year, as the superintendent and the next principal will review the responses to help shape the school’s work and priorities for the coming year. Families only need to complete one survey.

Please look out for an email from Denise with your access code and a link to complete the survey online. If you have any questions, please contact Denise at denise@tnsny.org.

We hope that you all are able to spend time with loved ones and do things that bring you joy during the break.

Warmly,
Dyanthe & Shaquawn
