Darcie Jones Book Drive

The Darcie Jones Book Drive is March 3rd-7th! We are collecting new and gently used books for ages 11 and under. These books will benefit "Books for the Barrios", a non-profit that has the goal of building libraries for children in need in the Philippines. If you want to donate books in Spanish, those will support the monolingual families at Shore Acres Elementary School.

Please drop off donations by the office. Children’s books ONLY!

This community service drive was named after Darcie Jones, a Walnut Acres parent who started a book drive in the Spring of 1994 to benefit the summer reading program at Meadow Homes Elementary School in Concord. This school doesn't need the donations this year but we would like to continue with Darcie’s mission of supporting and providing reading opportunities for children in need. 

After Darcie died of cancer on December 31, 1996, the PFC renamed the book drive “The Darcie Jones Book Drive” and planted a tree outside the 3rd grade wing in honor of all she contributed to Walnut Acres.

Dine & Donate THURSDAY!

We have you covered for dinner AND dessert! So excited to partner with BOTH The Kebab Shop and Chip Cookies in the Orchards Shopping Center for our next Dine & Donate. Join us this Thursday March 6th to dine, support local business, and our school!

The Details!

The Kebab Shop: Walnut Acres Elementary School will receive 50% of fundraiser sales all day on March 6th. Mention Walnut Acres at checkout or order online using online code FUNDRAISER during the same time.

Chip Cookies: Stop in 3-10pm and Chip will give back 15% of your purchase to help support Walnut Acres Elementary when you mention us at checkout!

Drink tickets are the ONLY way to buy alcoholic beverages on the night of the auction. It is a NO CASH BAR. So speed up your check in process, and/or avoid having to track down one of our Drink Ticket Volunteers throughout the night, and get started by buying some drink tickets via our Online Catalog.

Morning Drive Thru

Want to Volunteer in March, but do not have a lot of time? Join the Drive Thru Line!

Help us in the Drive Thru line as we open doors and greet students while they are arriving at school.  We would greatly appreciate 2-4 helpers each day. Can you please help for 15 minutes in the morning, 7:45 - 8:00 am?

ALL PARENTS, GUARDIANS, AND GRANDPARENTS ARE WELCOME TO SIGN UP regardless of grade level.

Important Message! Please make sure to drive SLOWLY in our Walnut Acres School Zone, PLEASE do NOT use the driveway as a crossing to the school either by bike or foot.  Your students’ safety is our utmost concern and do not want their safety endangered. Lastly, please observe all “No Parking” signs and have your students exit the car by the passengers side only.  It’s crucial for the safety of students!

The suggested donation for the 2024-2025 school year is $65 per month or a one-time donation of $650, per child.

The Jaguar Fund is the Parent Faculty Club’s primary source of funds to bridge the gap between public funding and the true cost of our children’s education at Walnut Acres.

Our Goal is 100% Participation. Understanding that every family situation is different, the goal of the Jaguar Fund is 100% Participation, regardless of the dollar amount. No amount is too small, and every dollar will make a difference for our school.
