Next Wednesday, November 20th is a very special Dine & Donate - it’s an ALL DAY duo! We have options for burger and fish lovers alike! Make a plan to head to the Orchards - we’ve got lunch or dinner covered (these fundraisers are ALL DAY!)!

Toy Drive

The Toy Drive benefiting Shore Acres Elementary is December 2-6. Please drop off new and very gently used toys and children’s books in front of the office. Please only donate items in very good condition that have all their pieces and are clean. We will also need adult and student volunteers to sort donations (outdoors) and to deliver donations to Shore Acres in your minivan or SUV in the afternoon.

Makers Market December 18th

The First Annual Walnut Acres 4th/5th Grade Makers Market is coming this December and it is your 4th or 5th grader's chance to start their own business and sell their items to the Walnut Acres community.

Have your 4th/5th grader apply here by 11/21. There will be a meeting for all participants on November 22nd during school. 

All Walnut Acres kids and families are invited to shop the Makers Market on December 18th from 5-7pm in the MUR.

Save the Date!: Walnut Acres Art Walk

The Walnut Acres Art Walk is coming to the Orchards shopping plaza (on YVR) Wednesday, 12/4, from 5pm to 8pm!

We need help hanging & removing student art on 11/18 & 12/19. Please sign up here

Mark your calendars for this exciting NEW & FREE event night that will celebrate our community, inspire pride in our students’ work, & raise money for our school!

• Stroll the exhibit with work from every WAE classroom
• Stop in select storefronts to collect FREE goodies 
• Take home balloon art from a professional twister
• Groove to tunes & strike a pose with your fave li’l artist(s) on the red carpet
• Shop & Dine at the participating retailers & restaurants donating a portion of their proceeds directly back to our school!

The Orchards will showcase art from our school (as well as Valle Verde Elementary) in merchant windows from Nov 18th to Dec 19th for all to enjoy. Stop by as many times as you like, and be sure to attend our Dec 4th fundraising event night just for our school. :)  Heartfelt thanks to our amazing art teacher, Kristin Kyono, for her hard work co-curating this event!

Jag Fund

Have you donated to the Jaguar Fund yet? 

The Jaguar Fund is the Parent Faculty Club’s primary source of funds to bridge the gap between public funding and the true cost of our children’s education at Walnut Acres. 

Anyone that donates will receive a Walnut Acres Adventures Awaits car magnet showing their support!

The suggested donation for the 2024-2025 school year is $65 per month or a one-time donation of $650, per child.

Our Goal is 100% Participation. Understanding that every family situation is different, the goal of the Jaguar Fund is 100% Participation, regardless of the dollar amount. No amount is too small, and every dollar will make a difference for our school.

3rd Grade Parents do you want to Volunteer in November? Join the Drive Thru Line!

Parents & Grandparents: Please help us in the Drive Thru line as we open doors and greet students while they are arriving at school. November will be one of the last months that parents will be asked to help this year. We will be unveiling the new and exciting program that our Student Council will be involved with in January, 2025.  But for November we would appreciate 2-4 helpers each day. Can you help for 15 minutes in the morning, 7:45 - 8:00 am? If so, please sign up!
