1. Fall Giving Campaign Update: We are 90% there, only +$13,000 left to hit our goal
The PTA would like to express gratitude for all of the families who have donated time, money, and expertise to the school this academic year. Thanks to all of you, we have raised $123,000 in the Fall Giving Campaign, reaching 90% of our goal! We believe some corporate matches (which take more time) will come to the PTA in January AND we will add other donations in January to this total. We are so close! If 2025 just got away from you and you are able to give to the PTA, your gift of any amount will help make sure that our children continue to receive all of the elements of a well-rounded education. 2. SF Chinese New Year Parade practices begin - Tuesday, 1/13
Families who have signed their children up to participate in the SF Chinese New Year Parade should have received an email (from communicationsvp@wcmspta.org) with details regarding the practice schedule. Practices will occur on Tuesdays and Fridays during the lunch recess for your child’s grade. During the final week prior to the parade (week of 3/2), there will be an additional lunch practice on Monday and Thursday, as well as after school practice from 2:20-2:45 pm. Students should meet at the bleachers on the field for practice. We also need parent volunteers to help with practices! Please sign up on the Google spreadsheet here.

5. Save the date: Lunar New Year Performance - Thursday, January 29
The annual WCMS Lunar New Year Performance will take place on Thursday, January 29, starting at 5:00 pm in the Multi-purpose Room at our elementary campus. Students from both campuses are preparing exciting performances to welcome the Year of the Horse, so we hope you will be able to join us! Details to follow.
6. Looking for Sport-a-thon Planning Volunteers
We’re excited to announce that the PTA’s Sport-a-thon fundraiser will take place on Thursday, April 16 at the Middle School and Friday, April 17 at the Elementary School! To make this event a success, we need enthusiastic leaders to help plan and organize. Sign up by January 16, 2026, to take on a leadership role and help make Sport-a-thon an unforgettable experience for our students.
7. Help Needed for Upcoming Enrollment Tours
We are looking for several parent volunteers to attend upcoming WCMS enrollment tours. These events are for families interested in enrolling in our school, in advance of the district application process. Parent volunteers would help to answer questions from attendees and discuss their experience with WCMS. There are both in-person events and virtual events (6-7pm). The dates are as follows:
Classes will run from January 13, 2026 through June 11, 2026, and will be held in the MPR. Students enrolled in the fall session will be automatically enrolled in the spring session at the same class time and level. Class times and levels will remain the same as the fall session. Love.Learn.Success invites you to our Winter Showcase/Potluck on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 4:30 - 6:00pm at the WCMS Elementary Campus MPR. Students in the after-school program will be performing and displaying their art projects. Families are welcome to bring (nut-free) food and drink to share after the performance. This will be a combined program for elementary and middle school students (middle school students will go to the Elementary Campus to have their after school program on this date).

10. Reminders
- Traffic Reminder: there is no left turn into the school from Mann Drive during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Instead of turning onto Mann Drive from Appian Way, please take Marlesta Road to help with the flow of traffic. (see map for refresher)
- Lost and Found: The school’s lost and found is overflowing! If your child has lost something at school, have your child check it for any missing items, or come check it yourself after school! The school will be clearing out the Lost and Found every month or so, rather than waiting until a school break.
- Join the PTA: Please consider joining if you have not already done so! Your membership helps support programming and experiences for our school. Yearly membership is $16 per person–click here to pay online.
