An annual tradition at WCMS is to express our appreciation for our wonderful teachers by having our students make “leaves of gratitude” for them. These small tokens of gratitude are easy to make but are very meaningful for our teachers, who then display them as garlands, wreaths, or trees in their classrooms. Please see your classroom Konstella chat for instructions from your room parents. Leaf templates can be downloaded here. Completed leaves should be given to teachers prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.

4. Help Needed for Upcoming Enrollment Tours
We are looking for several parent volunteers to attend upcoming WCMS enrollment tours. These events are for families interested in enrolling in our school, in advance of the district application process. Parent volunteers would help to answer questions from attendees and discuss their experience with WCMS. There are both in-person events and virtual events (6-7 pm). The dates are as follows:

5. Support Our 8th Graders!The 8th graders are fundraising for a field trip to the Santa Cruz Mountains by selling WCMS IB blankets! Students will do a full day of activities and adventures emphasizing team collaboration, communication, and environmental stewardship. Blankets are 50" x 60" and are made of soft micro-plush (300GSM medium weight blanket), selling for $30 each. Blankets are proudly made in the USA. They will arrive in late January. 7. Sports Committee Updates
Congrats to the WCMS 4th-6th grade flag football team, who participated in the recent WCCUSD Flag Football Tournament - and won both of their games! Thanks to parent volunteers Robby Roller and Joel Abelson for making this opportunity possible. And thanks to our fledgling WCMS cheer team who showed up to cheer the team on! Go Pandas!
BASKETBALL: We are gearing up to start basketball for 2nd-8th grade thanks to parent coach Reggie Figgs, who started this program last year. We need additional parent volunteers to make this possible. 11. Reminders
- Traffic Reminder: there is no left turn into the school from Mann Drive during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Instead of turning onto Mann Drive from Appian Way, please take Marlesta Road to help with the flow of traffic. (see map for refresher)
- Lost and Found: The school’s lost and found is overflowing! If your child has lost something at school, have your child check it for any missing items, or come check it yourself after school! The school will be clearing out the Lost and Found every month or so, rather than waiting until a school break.
- Join the PTA: Please consider joining if you have not already done so! Your membership helps support programming and experiences for our school. Yearly membership is $16 per person–click here to pay online.

- Volunteer: Apply at each school site(s) where you wish to volunteer and provide evidence of a cleared TB screening to the front office.
