After School Enrichment Chess Class

Offered for 1st - 5th grade

Tuesdays or Thursdays            2:30 - 3:30 or 3:50 - 4:50

(Class times will be assigned by instructor based on playing level, emails will be sent once enrolled about which class your child is in and the start date)

Fee:  $250 paid by Check or Venmo  (payment instructions will be sent once enrolled)

(This fee will cover weekly class from Oct 2022- June 2023, for 28 weeks it is about $9 per class)

After school enrichment chess classes will be returning in mid October and we are pleased to offer more sessions this year due to an earlier start date!  These are optional after school classes, paid for by families, and are only for 1st to 5th graders.

Students will meet with Coach Nick from West Coast Chess Alliance for 1 hour a week to learn in a fun and interactive way, how to play and respect the game. At the end of the school year there will be a tournament with trophies and medals given. 

Classes will be offered on Tuesdays or Thursdays based on playing level and for convenience we would like for all LLS students to attend the later 3:50 - 4:50 class.  Children not in the after school program must be picked up as soon as their class ends. 

In order to make these after school classes happen we MUST have parent volunteers to assist.  The school district has recently cut back the funds for yard supervisor time, so there will be sign ups for parents to help assist in watching the kids after school and directing them to the class.

Ofrecido para 1° - 5° grado

Martes o Jueves 2:30 - 3:30 pm o 3:50 - 4:50 pm

La clase de ajedrez después de escuela, regresará en Octubre. Este año se ofrecerán más sesiones gracias a que estamos empezando las clases antes que el año pasado. Los estudiantes tendrán clase de una hora, una vez por semana, así aprenderán de una manera divertida e interactiva como jugar ajedrez y también aprenderán a respetar las reglas del juego. Al finalizar el año  escolar tendremos un torneo donde los estudiantes recibirán trofeos y medallas por su participación. Las clases serán  los martes o jueves. Se les recomienda a los estudiantes de LLS inscribirse a las clases que empiezan de 3:50-4:50 pm
