2. PTA Fifth General Meeting Recap
Thank you to everyone who joined our final PTA General Meeting of the 2025-2026 school year! We reviewed the many events and activities supported by the PTA this year, welcomed next year’s Executive Board, and celebrated the WCMS community for contributing over 4,000+ volunteer hours in support of our school. We also approved new events, bylaw changes, budget updates, funding allocations, reviewed current financials, and received an update from the Campus Transition Team.  You can view the meeting slides and agenda for more information. The recording from the 5th PTA general meeting can be viewed here and the passcode: 3#6R8q8q.  Feel free to contact any of the PTA Executive Board members with questions. If you have any suggestions or comments please click here.  We look forward to seeing you all again when PTA meetings resume in the fall for the 2026-2027 school year! 

3. Campus Transition Updates - Volunteers Needed
WCMS will move from the Pinole site to a new, unified campus at 1121 Allview Ave, El Sobrante, CA 94803 before school starts in August 2026. We have a lot of work to make this happen! Here is how you can help: 

  1. Packing Help. Teachers and staff have requested help with packing. Let's come together as a community to make it happen. Sign up here. Packing time slots include a Pizza & Packing Party on Saturday, June 13.  
  2. Tour the new Soskin campus on June 16. Sign up here. 
  3. Questions or ideas? Email the Transition Committee (parent advisory group) at transition@wcmspta.org. We’ll work with school and district leadership to get answers and share them back with you and the WCMS community. 

4. Volunteers Needed: STEM Night Station Hosts
Join us for an evening of hands-on discovery at our annual STEM Night on Thursday, May 28, from 5:30–7:30 PM at the WCMS Elementary Campus MPR. We’re teaming up with the Richmond Fab Lab to bring students exciting stations filled with science, math, and engineering fun! We need volunteers to help run the stations.  Please sign up to host a station. All materials and instructions will be provided. We also need help with set-up and clean-up. Food and drinks will be sold by the 5th Grade Fundraising Committee. The menu is included as an attachment.

5. 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony
The 5th Grade Exhibition and PYP Completion Ceremony will be Friday, May 29th from 12:55 - 2:25 pm. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend! The 5th grade class will be celebrating the end of their elementary school years with an end-of-year Celebration party with food, games, and music.  SUMMER TIME is the theme, so please encourage your student(s) to dress the part (i.e Hawaiian shirt, etc). The party will be on Friday, May 29th from 5 - 7 pm in the Elementary Campus MPR, for 5th graders only.  Please return your RSVP form to the teachers if you have not done so. Please also make sure to check your classrooms on Konstella on ways to get involved.  Thank you!  

6. SAVE the DATE: 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
Students and families are invited to attend the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Thursday, June 11th, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. A special reception for students will follow immediately after the ceremony until 9:00 p.m. To help make this celebration a memorable event honoring our students’ hard work and achievements, we are looking for volunteers to assist with decorations, refreshments, setup, and cleanup. Volunteering is a wonderful way to support and celebrate this important milestone with our graduating class. Sign up here.

7. SAVE the DATE: Kindergarten Promotion Ceremony
The Kindergarten Promotion and Celebration will take place on Friday, June 12th, in the Pinole Middle School Gymnasium. Kindergarten students should be dropped off at the Kindergarten entrance by 8:15 a.m. and may wear either their dark blue tops with khaki bottoms or formal attire (no caps or gowns). Families are asked to park respectfully on nearby neighborhood streets and avoid school lots, business parking areas, driveways, and wheelchair access zones. Gym doors will open around 9:00 a.m., and all guests and students must sign in and sign out if leaving before noon. To ensure all guests can comfortably enjoy the ceremony, loud noise makers and oversized balloons are not permitted. Following the ceremony, families are invited to a reception on the Kindergarten playground with refreshments, photos, and playtime. Volunteers are still needed and can sign up through Konstella. Questions may be directed to Karla Galvez-Lima via Konstella.

8. Middle School Spring Mixer Dance
Get ready for a fun night with music, games, photos, friends, and snacks!  This event is open to WCMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.

9. LLS After School Program Updates
The Love. Learn. Success. afterschool program invites parents/guardians of students in the after school program to the end of the year showcase and potluck (family event) on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 4:30-6:30 pm in the elementary campus MPR.  Additionally, the afterschool program will be holding a "Fun Day" on Thursday, June 11th. The Fun Day is only for students; families do not need to attend. Students will be taken to the event by the after school program after the early dismissal at noon. LLS will still be open until 6:00 pm, after the Fun Day activities conclude. Please contact Ms. Rodriguez with any questions.

10. Yearbooks available for Order!
If you missed the pre-order sales, the 2025-2026 West County Mandarin School yearbook (https://store.shopyearbook.com/wcms2026) will remain open until the end of summer and ship direct to your home. We hope this yearbook encapsulates the best memories and highlights of our wonderful community.

The yearbooks are being sold at cost, and e-book copies are free.

Les recordamos que no hay clases el lunes 25 de mayo en conmemoración del Día de los Caídos. ¡Disfruten del fin de semana largo!  

2. Resumen de la quinta reunión general de la PTA
¡Gracias a todos los que asistieron a nuestra última reunión general de la PTA del año escolar 2025-2026! Revisamos los numerosos eventos y actividades apoyados por la PTA este año, dimos la bienvenida a la Junta Ejecutiva del próximo año y celebramos a la comunidad de WCMS por contribuir con más de 4000 horas de voluntariado en apoyo de nuestra escuela. También aprobamos nuevos eventos, cambios en los estatutos, actualizaciones presupuestarias, asignaciones de fondos, revisamos las finanzas actuales y recibimos una actualización del Equipo de Transición del Campus. Pueden ver las diapositivas  y  la agenda de la reunión para obtener más información. La grabación de la 5.ª asamblea general de la PTA se puede ver aquí; la contraseña es: 3#6R8q8q. 3. Actualizaciones de transición del campus - Se necesitan voluntarias

El tema es VERANO, así que animen a sus estudiantes a vestirse para la ocasión (por ejemplo, camisa hawaiana, etc.). La fiesta será el viernes 29 de mayo de 5 a 7 p. m. en el MPR del Campus de Primaria, solo para estudiantes de 5.º grado . 7. RESERVA LA FECHA: Ceremonia de graduación de jardín de infantes
La ceremonia de graduación y celebración de kínder se llevará a cabo el viernes 12 de junio en el gimnasio de la escuela secundaria Pinole. Los alumnos de kínder deben ser dejados en la entrada del kínder antes de las 8:15 a. m. y pueden usar camisetas azul oscuro con pantalones caqui o ropa formal (sin birretes ni togas). Se les pide a las familias que estacionen respetuosamente en las calles del vecindario y eviten los estacionamientos escolares, las áreas de estacionamiento de negocios, las entradas de vehículos y las zonas de acceso para sillas de ruedas. 五年级作品展暨PYP结业典礼将于5月29日（周五）下午12:55至2:25举行。欢迎家长参加！五年级学生将举办一场庆祝小学毕业的庆祝活动，届时将有美食、游戏和音乐。本次活动的主题是“夏日时光”，请鼓励您的孩子穿着应景的服装（例如夏威夷衬衫等）。派对将于5月29日（星期五）下午5点至7点在小学部多功能厅举行，仅限五年级学生参加。如果您尚未回复，请尽快将您的回复表格交给老师。此外，请务必在Konstella平台上查看您班级的参与方式。谢谢！  

6. 敬请期待：八年级毕业典礼
我们诚挚邀请学生和家长参加 6月11日（星期四）下午6点至7点30分举行的八年级毕业典礼。典礼结束后，我们将举办学生招待会，持续至晚上9点。为了让这场庆祝活动更加难忘，以此表彰学生们的辛勤付出和卓越成就，我们正在招募志愿者协助装饰、准备茶点、场地布置和清理工作。志愿服务是支持和庆祝我们毕业生这一重要里程碑的绝佳方式。请点击此处报名。

7. 敬请预留日期：幼儿园毕业典礼
幼儿园毕业典礼暨庆祝活动将于6月12日（星期五）在皮诺尔中学体育馆举行。请各位家长于上午8:15前将孩子送到幼儿园入口处，孩子可穿着深蓝色上衣搭配卡其色裤子，或正式服装（无需佩戴毕业帽或毕业袍）。请各位家长将车辆停放在附近街道，避免占用学校停车场、商业停车场、车道和无障碍通道区域。体育馆将于上午9:00左右开放，所有来宾和学生如需在中午前离开，请务必登记。为确保所有来宾都能舒适地参加典礼，请勿携带噪音过大的物品和超大气球。典礼结束后，欢迎各位家长前往幼儿园操场参加招待会，届时将提供茶点、拍照留念和游戏时间。我们仍需要志愿者，请通过Konstella平台报名。如有任何疑问，请通过Konstella平台联系Karla Galvez-Lima。

9. LLS课后项目最新动态
“爱·学·成功”课后项目诚邀所有参与该项目的学生家长/监护人参加6月3日（周三）下午4:30至6:30在小学多功能厅举行的年终成果展示暨聚餐（家庭活动）。此外，课后项目将于6月11日（周四）举办“趣味日”活动。趣味日仅限学生参加，家长无需陪同。学生将在中午提前放学后由课后项目工作人员接送至活动地点。趣味日活动结束后，LLS仍将开放至下午6:00。如有任何疑问，请联系Rodriguez女士。

如果您错过了此前的预购期，2025-2026学年 West County Mandarin School 的年鉴（订购链接：https://store.shopyearbook.com/wcms2026）将持续开放订购至夏季结束，并可直接邮寄到您的家中。我们衷心希望这本年鉴能为您定格我们这个精彩社区中最美好的回忆与精彩瞬间。
