1. Garden Workday Tomorrow, 5/31
Come join us in the final Garden Workday of the year, tomorrow, Saturday, May 31, starting at 11:00 am. We will be mulching and setting up solar powered drip irrigation to help sustain our garden during the summer time. No experience needed! Bring work gloves and your own water. There will be a potluck and short cooking demo around 3:00pm.

2. Please Return Library Books
All students have now had their last Friday visit to the Pinole Middle School Library. Please look around at home and check your child's backpack for any books with a Pinole Middle School or West County Mandarin School barcode. If you find any books, your child can return them to the front office and they will put it in our librarian's box to check the book back into the library system and avoid any fines. If you need to pay for any missing books, you can do so on Fridays with our librarian, Jenny Reeves. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Callie Wong at callie.shanafelt@gmail.com.

3. LLS After School Program Updates
The Love Learn Success Aftercare program invites parents/guardians of students in the after school program to our end of the year showcase and potluck (family event) on Wednesday, June 4, from 4:30-6:00 pm in the elementary campus MPR. More information and the program with the times for each grade will be available on Konstella. Additionally, the Love Learn Success Aftercare program will be holding a Last Day of School Fun Day on Wednesday, June 11, from 12:00-5:00 pm! The Fun Day is only for students; families do not need to attend. Students will be taken to the event by the after school program after the early dismissal at noon. There will be a Ballet Folklorico performance and tacos. LLS will still be open until 6:00 pm, after the Fun Day activities conclude. Please contact Ms. Rodriguez or Mr. Brandon with any questions.

4. Yearbook Online Store
If you forgot to pre-order a yearbook or changed your mind and decided you would like to purchase a yearbook, the on-line store will remain open until the end of the summer. You will have to pay for shipping and handling, but it will ship directly to your house. Please visit https://store.shopyearbook.com/wcms2025. 

The yearbooks are being sold at cost, and e-book copies are free

5. Check Your Yearbook Type
Please review your order and check if you received a softcover, but actually ordered a hardcover. Please reach out to yearbook@wcmspta.org as soon as possible. You can check the list on Konstella, which is sorted by student's last name.

6. Dine-out Fundraiser at D'Grobak 6/6
Catch Indonesian street food pop-up D’Grobak at the Gilman Wine Block Party at Donkey and Goat Winery on Friday, 6/6 from 3-8 pm (1340 Fifth St., Berkeley, CA 94710), and 15% of profits will be donated back to WCMS!

7. Boba & Bake Sale Friday Fundraisers
Join the current 6th grade classes for the final Friday after school fundraiser on 6/6 at the elementary campus (Pinole Middle School) to support the 7th grade China study trip for 2026! Enjoy Friday boba with both milk tea and chocolate milk, plus light snacks. It’s a great opportunity to have a tasty after school treat as spring arrives. Bring cash and an empty stomach, and help support our students! 

8. Open Volunteer Positions
Note that the new Verkada system is operational. New and returning volunteers must obtain a QR code via this website. If you have previously applied for a QR code but have not received a response, you may email WCCUSD Associate Superintendent Summer Siegler (ssigler@wccusd.net) or Director of Community Engagement Martine Blake (martine.blake@wccusd.net) for assistance.

9. Reminders

  • WCMS Spirit Wear: Visit our new WCMS Spirit Wear website, where you can find a wide range of WCMS-branded gear for purchase. Proceeds (15% of each purchase) benefit the PTA.

1. Jornada de jardinería, mañana, 31/5
Acompáñenos a la última Jornada de Jardinería del año, mañana sábado 31 de mayo, a partir de las 11:00 h. Estaremos aplicando mantillo e instalando riego por goteo con energía solar para ayudar a mantener nuestro jardín durante el verano. ¡No se necesita experiencia! Traiga guantes de trabajo y su propia agua. Habrá una comida compartida y una breve demostración de cocina alrededor de las 15:00 h.

2. Por favor, devuelvan los libros de la biblioteca escolar
