1. Welcome Back Picnic - Sunday, August 23
WCMS PTA invites students, families, and friends to get together for our upcoming Welcome Back Picnic! Families are welcome to bring food, beverages, sports equipment or bubbles to share!  PTA will supply cutlery and napkins and we encourage families to bring their own reusable bottle for water to reduce plastic waste. We hope to see you there!

5. Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Please review this Konstella Announcement regarding drop-off and pick-up procedures. Your patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated!  

**Morning Drop-off**
New Procedure for TK/K students Only: TK/K students will be received by staff at the fenced TK/K playground accessed from the school gate on Salida Way between 7:45-8:15am. Parents enter the through the gate and follow the walkway to the playground. Please immediately exit the gate to Salida Way after dropping off your students at the playground.

Grades 1-8: Students are to be dropped off at the front of the school on Loma Linda Ave. between 7:45-8:15 am. There will be staff guiding students into the school.

**Afternoon Pick Up**
TK/K students will be dismissed at the TK/K gate on Salida Way and Grades 1-8 will be dismissed at the front of the school/main gate on Loma Linda Ave. All students must be picked up within 15 minutes of their release unless they are in the after school program with LLS (grade TK to 3 students who have an older sibling in grade 4-5 may wait for their older sibling to be released).

We ask that parents have their students’ names and class visible on a paper sign for staff to see during pick-up time. (Sample)

New Procedure for TK/K students Only: TK/K: Students will be waiting for pick-up inside the fence of the playground accessed from the gate at the side of the school on Salida Way. Please immediately exit the gate to Salida Way after picking up your students at the playground.

Grade 1-8: All students will be waiting inside the gated courtyard in the front of the school on Loma Linda Ave.
6. Join a Konstella Committee
WCMS has many different fun and engaging committees to join. There are opportunities to fit a variety of schedules and interests. On the Konstella app, click on “Directory” and “Browse Committees” to see available roles. You may also contact programsvp@wcmspta.org with any questions. Please consider joining as a committee member, or share your expertise by taking on a committee lead role! We are actively looking to fill these volunteer roles.

  • Financial Secretary - help the PTA Treasurer count cash/checks received and help prepare the monthly reconciliation by pulling a small number of online reports.  This is an in person at school role that will take one hour, twice a month. 
  • Committee Volunteer - Join and help an existing committee at school with their planning, events, and initiatives.  Some committees need a new chair!  If it’s something you’re interested in, feel free to jump right in.  

7. Join the PTA or Renew Your Membership for 2026-2027
Our PTA's strength lies in its collective effort, and your involvement has a significant impact on our children's education and school experience! See the attached flyer to learn about what our PTA does and the programs and activities we support, or CLICK HERE to join/renew your PTA membership!

8. After School Enrichment Classes (Art, Music, Dance, Garden)

West County Music, Dance & Arts is offering after school enrichment classes.  There are a variety of extracurricular classes offered for the 2026–2027 school year. Please click on the link for more details.

  • ALL grades TK-8 follow the elementary calendar this year.

5. Procedimientos de entrega y recogida
Por favor, revise este anuncio de Konstella sobre los procedimientos de entrega y recogida. ¡Agradecemos enormemente su paciencia y colaboración!  

**Hora de llegada por la mañana**
Niños de preescolar y jardín de infantes: Los alumnos de preescolar y jardín de infantes serán recibidos por el personal en la entrada para estudiantes de preescolar y jardín de infantes ubicada al costado de la escuela en Salida Way entre las 7:45 y las 8:15 a. m. Recuerden que no hay estacionamiento en el estacionamiento de la escuela (las familias deben estacionar en la calle).

Los padres o tutores de alumnos de preescolar (TK/K) pueden estacionar en la calle y acompañar a sus hijos hasta la entrada para alumnos de preescolar (TK/K) ubicada al costado de la escuela en Salida Way, o bien, pueden estacionar brevemente en Salida Way, en la zona de descenso, el tiempo suficiente para desabrocharles el cinturón y entregárselos a un miembro del personal que los acompañará hasta la puerta de entrada. Los hermanos mayores de los alumnos de preescolar (TK/K) también pueden ser dejados en la zona de descenso.

Para alumnos de 1.º a 8.º grado: Los estudiantes deberán ser dejados en la entrada principal de la escuela, en la avenida Loma Linda, entre las 7:45 y las 8:15 de la mañana. Habrá personal que los acompañará al interior del edificio.

**Recogida por la tarde**
Los alumnos de preescolar (TK/K) saldrán por la puerta de salida de Salida Way y los de 1.º a 8.º grado saldrán por la puerta principal de la escuela en Loma Linda Ave. Todos los alumnos deben ser recogidos dentro de los 15 minutos posteriores a su salida, a menos que participen en el programa extracurricular de LLS (los alumnos de preescolar a 3.º grado que tengan un hermano mayor en 4.º o 5.º grado pueden esperar a que su hermano mayor salga).

Solicitamos a los padres que tengan visibles los nombres y la clase de sus hijos en un cartel de papel para que el personal lo vea durante la hora de recogida. ( Ejemplo ) 

TK/K: Los estudiantes esperarán a ser recogidos dentro de la cerca junto a la puerta al costado de la escuela en Salida Way.

6. Únase a un Comité de Konstella

**早晨送孩子上学**
学前班和幼儿园学生：学前班/幼儿园学生将于早上 7:45 至 8:15在学校侧面 Salida Way 的学前班/幼儿园学生入口处由工作人员接待。请注意，学校停车场不提供停车位（家长必须将车停在路边）。

幼儿园小班/学前班（TK/K）的家长/监护人可以将车停在路边，然后步行送孩子到位于萨利达路（Salida Way）学校侧面的TK/K学生入口；或者，他们也可以将车短暂停在萨利达路（Salida Way）的下客区，以便解开孩子的安全带，然后将孩子交给等候的工作人员，工作人员会引导他们前往入口大门。TK/K学生的哥哥姐姐也可以在TK/K下客区下车。

1-8年级：学生请于早上7:45-8:15之间在洛马琳达大道上的学校正门下车 。届时将有工作人员引导学生进入学校。

**下午接送**
