We’ve noticed that balls have been going missing from the TK/K playard. It appears that some TK/K students have been throwing balls over the fence to older students who are asking them for balls. At the same time, some Grades 1–5 students have been entering the TK/K area to take balls.

Please remind your children:

• Keep balls and playground equipment in their designated playard.
• Stay in your assigned/grade-level play area.
• Do not throw balls over the fence or ask younger students to send balls over.
• Grades 1–5 have age-appropriate balls available in their own play areas, so there is no need to take balls from TK/K.

A little reinforcement from all of us will go a long way toward keeping equipment where it belongs and making recess safer and easier for everyone.

To help keep recess running smoothly, we’re adding a quick “Ball Duty” check to recess volunteer responsibilities.

Before Recess

• Check the playard and make sure there are enough balls available.
• Replenish the ball supply as needed.

During Recess

• Make sure balls and equipment stay in their designated areas.
• Remind students to use the equipment assigned to their grade level.

After Recess

• Check of the playard and return any balls that have wandered into other areas.
• If you find a deflated ball, please bring it to Mr. Joh in Room 602. He will inflate it and return it to the appropriate playard.

One Last Note

Now that we have a plan in place for monitoring, replenishing, and inflating the balls, please direct any ball/recess equipment concerns to our Physical Education Department or the PTA rather than messaging Dr. Peterson individually. This will help keep the issue from landing on the principal’s desk and allow us to address it quickly at the source.

Un Recordatorio para Todos los Estudiantes

Hemos notado que están desapareciendo balones del área de juegos de TK/K.
