We're looking for parents to help run science fair activity tables. If you'd like to organize your own parent run science activity table, please let us know.
The science fair will occur on Friday, June 3rd. Setup of tables and student projects will start at 11:30am and the fair will be open to students starting at Noon. The fair will run until the end of the school day.
Due to COVID, only parent volunteers will be allowed to attend the fair. However, a video presentation of all the student projects will be made available.

Volunteer will oversee a table that will have a 3D printer. There will be sample 3D prints that students can handle, play and experiment with.

Microscope table Signed Up: 2 / 1Fri, Jun 3 11:30am-2:20pm
Students can use a low power microscope to examine objects. We'll have some live insects and other interesting subjects. Students may find their own subjects. Volunteer will oversee the table.

Bubbles & Dry Ice Signed Up: 5 / 3Fri, Jun 3 11:30am-2:20pm
Volunteers will oversee the bubble area where students will create giant bubbles. Volunteers will also fill up containers with water and dry ice that will be used to create CO2 bubbles. Volunteers will also need to manage students around the dry ice.

Solar Marshmellow roasting Signed Up: 3 / 3Fri, Jun 3 11:30am-2:20pm
Volunteers will help students roast marshmallows using solar cookers. Students will dip marshmallows in cocoa powder then roast then in a parabolic mirror. In case of no sun, volunteers can assist other tables.

Planets Signed Up: 2 / 2Fri, Jun 3 11:30am-2:20pm
Volunteers will demonstrate the size of the planets and the Sun with respect to each other using a scale model. They will also instruct students to guess how far Earth would be given the size of the model Sun. One volunteer will be at the Sun while the other volunteer will help students mark their guess for the Earth's distance.

Drink experiment Signed Up: 3 / 2Fri, Jun 3 11:30am-2:20pm
Volunteers will be in charge of a drink experiment. Volunteers will offer three drinks for the student to taste. The student will then vote for the drink that they liked most by dropping a token in a voting booth. At the end of the fair, all the votes will be tallied.

Volunteers will manage crowds, direct students from crowded activities to open spaces. Watch students around the science projects and help around where needed.
